Manchester City’s Kyle Walker is absent from full England training on Tuesday morning ahead of Gareth Southgate’s side’s international friendly with Australia.

The veteran full-back joined up with the England international set-up earlier this week having ended the recent period of club football with a defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Walker and his Manchester City teammates join their respective international sides off the back of three successive domestic defeats, and a single victory in the UEFA Champions League embedded in that run.

As the second international break of the new season gets underway, Manchester City supporters have been met with an immediate fitness update concerning Kyle Walker, but one that should not be of concern.

As highlighted by Sky Sports News on Tuesday morning, Walker was absent from the England training session ahead of the upcoming international friendly fixture against Australia later this week.

It is detailed that the Manchester City vice-captain is instead following an individual training plan away from the pitch, as he continues his own recovery from Sunday afternoon’s 1-0 defeat in North London.

Alongside their international friendly, Kyle Walker and his England international teammates also have a competitive fixture scheduled for this month, as they take on Italy in a European Championship Qualification fixture at Wembley Stadium.

At present, it remains unknown as to whether Walker will be available for the upcoming friendly match against the Socceroos however Manchester City fans and Pep Guardiola himself will be hoping his omission from England group training is routine practice.

Upon the return from international duty in a fortnight’s time, Manchester City will host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium in a Premier League contest, with the subsequent league fixture being the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
