Manchester City can claim a historic Premier League title triumph with a win over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side require a victory against the Hammers to become the first team to win four consecutive Premier League titles, after Tuesday’s 0-2 win over Tottenham saw Manchester City move two points clear of Arsenal ahead of the final weekend of the campaign.

David Moyes concludes his time as Hammers boss at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, meanwhile Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates Stadium with remaining title aspirations of their own.

Erling Haaland’s second-half brace at Spurs moved Manchester City to within three points of a sixth title in seven years, with the Sky Blues having won the league on the final day of the campaign against West Ham a decade ago in 2014 under Manuel Pellegrini.

Manchester City are currently unbeaten in their previous 18 games against the Hammers, and are also unbeaten across all competitions since a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in early December 2023.

The Cityzens came from behind to beat West Ham at the London Stadium back in September, with a first club goal for Jeremy Doku, alongside Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland on the scoresheet during a 1-3 win.

Haaland was assisted by Kevin De Bruyne in north London on Tuesday night, and the Belgian has declared himself fit for the defining clash with West Ham, following fears that the 32-year-old had suffered an achilles injury.

Ederson will be unavailable for selection after a nasty collision with Cristian Romero forced the Brazilian to be withdrawn for the fourth time this season in midweek, although Stefan Ortega made a series of heroic saves to deny Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski.

Ahead of another potentially historic afternoon at the Etihad Stadium, several Manchester City players have been confirmed as starters, with the first information provided by FplToni on X.

As per the early information of the ever-reliable X user FplToni, Erling Haaland will start and presumably lead the line for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City against West Ham on Sunday afternoon.

In the lead up to confirmed news from the Etihad Stadium, the same source has also confirmed that Phil Foden – recently crowned 2023/24 Premier League Player of the Season – gets the nod to start. Josko Gvardiol will make up part of the defensive line.

Elsewhere, and Kevin De Bruyne has also been named as a confirmed starter for Manchester City against David Moyes’ side on Sunday, with that detail coming courtesy of The FPL Newsletter.

Following the arrival of the Manchester City team coach at the Etihad Stadium, it has been confirmed that Ederson is the only absentee from the first-team squad, with Academy goalkeeper True Grant replacing him.

Mateo Kovacic has dropped out of the Manchester City line-up from the side that defeated Tottenham on Tuesday night, with Jeremy Doku taking his place in the attacking formation, as per The Athletic’s Sam Lee.

Pep Guardiola and David Moyes are expected to confirm their respective Manchester City and West Ham starting line-ups from around 15:00 (UK) on Sunday afternoon.

Now confirmed.
