Bournemouth have entered the race to sign Manchester City forward Carlos Borges, who is attracting interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

The teenager, who was directly involved in 47 goals last season, helped Manchester City EDS become Premier League 2 champions for a third consecutive year.

Borges scored 29 goals and registered 18 assists across the PL2, UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy, as the forward was named the league’s Player of the Year off the back of an impressive campaign.

The 19 year-old was also rewarded with an opportunity to feature during a first-team friendly in December, playing against La Liga side Girona, during the FIFA World Cup break.

Manchester City are reported to value the teenager at around £10 million, with one-year remaining on the versatile forward’s current contract at the City Football Academy.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with a potential move for the Portuguese player, as well as Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund, who famously purchased Jadon Sancho from Manchester City in 2017.

West Ham and Nottingham Forest have both been previously mooted, as well as Championship side Southampton, a club who have signed an array of talent from Manchester City’s academy over the past 12 months.

Bournemouth have also joined the race to sign Borges according to Football Insider, who claim that the Cherries are eying either a loan or permanent move for the 19 year-old.

Football Scotland meanwhile have revealed that Celtic are not currently considering a move for the teenager, despite previous claims that the Scottish champions could look to sign the Manchester City youngster as a replacement for Jota.

Celtic have made no approach or proposal for the player to date.

Borges has been with Manchester City’s academy since 2014 and could be the latest player to leave this summer, following the planned exits of James Trafford, Shea Charles and Morgan Rogers.

Charles is due to sign for Southampton, while Trafford is set to complete a £19 million move to Burnley.
