Manchester City face Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium.

Newly appointed Thomas Tuchel returns to England to play against a Manchester City side who are on an eight-game winning run and have scored 31 goals since a 1-1 draw to RB Leipzig in late February.

Erling Haaland marked his return from injury with two goals against Southampton on Saturday evening, as City closed the gap to league leaders Arsenal with a 4-1 win at St Mary’s.

Chelsea or current holders Real Madrid await the winners in the semi-final, with City bidding to reach the final four of the Champions League for a third successive season.

Manchester City beat RB Leipzig 8-1 on aggregate to book their place the quarter-finals while Bayern Munich overcame Paris Saint-Germain.

The Bundesliga leaders sacked head coach Julian Nagelsmann during the recent international break, replacing the German coach with former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, beating City 1-0 in the final.
