West Ham player joined Manchester City’s Premier League title dressing room celebrations
West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips has been pictured celebrating Manchester City’s record-breaking Premier League title triumph with Pep Guardiola’s squad.
The 28-year-old quit the Etihad Stadium for the London Stadium for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign during the January transfer window, moving to West Ham despite offers from both Newcastle United and Fulham.
The Englishman returned to Manchester City recently to undergo rehabilitation for a hamstring injury, sidelining Phillips for the final weeks of the season, as David Moyes bid farewell to West Ham.
The midfielder has made just 31 appearances for Manchester City since signing in July 2022, and won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Emirates FA Cup during his debut season with the Sky Blues.
Phillips featured eight times for the Hammers in the Premier League, and also made appearances in the UEFA Europa League for the east London club.
The midfielder is expected to depart Manchester City this summer, with former club Leeds United amongst the potential interested parties, although West Ham are unlikely to make a permanent offer for the player.
Manchester City beat West Ham on Sunday to clinch a record-breaking fourth successive Premier League title, after a first-half brace from Phil Foden and a second-half Rodri strike secured a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Phillips, who doesn’t automatically qualify for a Premier League winners’ medal, was in attendance at Sunday’s historic clash, and has been pictured celebrating the triumph in the Manchester City dressing room post-match.
The midfielder joined the title celebrations, pictured alongside first-team pair Stefan Ortega and John Stones.
Phillips joined Manchester City at the same time as German goalkeeper Ortega, and is also international teammate’s with centre-back John Stones, who won his sixth Premier League title on Sunday.
