Manchester City have won the race to sign City Football Group starlet Sávio ahead of the 2024/25 season, according to a significant report on Monday evening.

The 19-year-old has been at the centre of everything good Girona have been doing in Spain’s top-flight this season, firing the City Football Group side towards the top of the division and into an intense title challenge with Real Madrid.

Joining the Spanish club on loan from Troyes last summer, Savio has gone on to register a total of 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring a commendable seven goals and providing seven assists alongside.

Given his outstanding performances in Spain, interest and monitoring from Manchester City and several other of Europe’s biggest clubs has been rife in recent months, however it now appears as though the player is set for a move to the Premier League.

According to the information of Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have now agreed a deal to sign Sávio, who has been starring whilst spending a season on loan at high-flying La Liga side Girona.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that documents over a deal for the Brazilian winger involving the Etihad Stadium club are to be signed in the next days, despite bids from clubs in Germany and other sides from England.

The Brazilian could return to Girona for the 2024/25 campaign after completing a transfer to the Etihad Stadium, with journalist Nil Sola reporting that ‘options are being studied to make it viable’.

Manchester City’s move for the teenager comes amid a €40 million offer, with several Girona stars subject to transfer interest after an incredibly impressive season in La Liga.

Savio’s move to the Premier League would be a major milestone for the player, who previously said: “When I signed for the City Group, I had the ultimate role of joining Manchester City.”
