Manchester City are reportedly amongst a number of European clubs interested in signing AC Milan forward Rafael Leão.

The 23 year-old is subject to interest from both England and Spain after an incredible start to the campaign in Serie A for AC Milan.

Leão has 16 direct goal involvements in 20 appearances for AC Milan so far this season, scoring seven goals and registering nine assists.

The forward also scored twice for Portugal during their FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are claimed to be interested in signing Leão, with the young forward out of contract in 2024.

Florian Plettenberg reports that the Portuguese international does not currently want to extend his contract at the San Siro.

Leão has a €150 million release clause, with Plettenberg claiming that AC Milan are holding out for that sum of money.

Chelsea have reportedly seen a €70 million offer rejected for the winger, with the London club having apparently held talks about the 23 year-old in Qatar.

The Sky Blues sold both Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus in the summer, while Riyad Mahrez signed a new two-year deal.

Pep Guardiola is expected to be active in the transfer market next summer, with a new midfielder and left-back set to be on the agenda.

Manchester City could face competition from Chelsea for the signatures of numerous players, with both Premier League sides claimed to be in the race for RB Leipzig and Croatia centre-back Joško Gvardiol.

Chelsea beat the Premier League Champions to the signing of Brighton full-back Marc Cucurella earlier this year, with City unwilling to meet Brighton’s high demands for the Spaniard.
