Manchester City have successfully fended off competition from three Premier League rivals after they saw one of England’s finest talents pen his Etihad Stadium contract.

The latest developments concern Finley Gorman, who made his debut for England’s Under-16s earlier this season whilst still being 14-years-old, and holds the record of being the youngest player to score twice in a Premier League Under-18 fixture at just 14 years and 326 days.

Social media has raved over viral clips and videos of Gorman in action for the Leeds United’s youth sides in recent months, with the teenager widely regarded as being one of the club’s most highly-rated prospects.

As such, it comes as no surprise to understand of Manchester City’s interest in such a talent, and the latest round of information would suggest that the Premier League champions have won the race for the player ahead of stern competition.

That is according to the information of transfer market insider Fabrizio Romano, who states that Manchester City have now sealed a deal to secure the talent of Leeds and England’s Finley Gorman, after the teenager penned his Etihad Stadium agreement this week.

Romano reveals that a long-term deal has now been officially sealed sealed after the player passed medical testing, with the 2008-born ‘top talent’ turning down three bids from top clubs within the Premier League in order to join Manchester City.

Unfortunately for those wanting to see the player tied down to his first professional contract with the Treble winners, it must be highlighted that Gorman will not be eligible for a first such agreement until he turns 17 in September 2025.

Manchester City are continuing to source the finest rising young talents across the globe, with the recently-crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions close to finalising an agreement for River Plate and Argentina starlet Claudio Echeverri.

Etihad Stadium officials are understood to have worked tirelessly on a deal for the teenager prospect, and there is a feeling in various quarters that a deal in excess of £18 million could now be on the verge of completion.
