Manchester City are amongst a number of European clubs chasing the signature of RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo.

Pep Guardiola could seek to bolster his Manchester City midfield once again next summer, after the additions of Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes, but concerns surrounding both Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

De Bruyne underwent surgery for a recurring hamstring problem, meanwhile Silva’s new Manchester City contract reportedly included a £50 million release clause, which may interest both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester City could therefore be forced to sign a new attacking midfielder, with RB Leipzig and Spain star Dani Olmo reportedly re-emerging as a potential target.

The 25-year-old had been linked with a potential move to the Etihad Stadium during the closing weeks of the summer transfer window, as Manchester City frantically searched for a replacement for De Bruyne, in wake of the Belgian’s serious injury.

Olmo has scored five goals in four appearances for RB Leipzig so far this season, although the versatile midfielder has missed several recent matches due to a knee problem, including last month’s UEFA Champions League clash against the Sky Blues.

The Spain international has a €60 million release clause, and is drawing interest from a number of European clubs, according to a report relayed by Sport Witness.

Manchester City are claimed to be ‘most interested’ in signing the 25-year-old, but face serious competition from both the Premier League and La Liga, report SportBILD.

Olmo could look to leave the Red Bull Arena next summer, and is subject to interest from Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The midfielder’s release clause is claimed to be ‘not prohibitive’ to either Manchester City or Real Madrid.

Manchester City completed the signing of Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig last summer for £77.6 million, and the Blues have also recently been linked with on-loan PSG star Xavi Simons, who is spending the campaign at the Bundesliga club.
