| Last Updated:

The FIFA Women’s World Cup will feature 14 Manchester City players, with the tournament taking place in Australia and New Zealand from Thursday 20th July.

The competition begins this week, with 32 nations competing at the Women’s World Cup for the first time in the tournament’s history, as England bid to become World champions after winning the European Championships last summer.

The Lionesses squad features six Manchester City players, with Sarina Wiegman’s England in Group D; facing matches against Haiti, Denmark and China.

New signing Jill Roord will feature for the Netherlands, who have been grouped with reigning champions the United States, in Group E.

The Women’s World Cup starts on Thursday 20th July and will conclude on Sunday 20th August, with the final taking place at Stadium Australia in Sydney.

Manchester City duo Alanna Kennedy and Mary Fowler will be representing co-host nation Australia, and the Matildas kick-off their World Cup campaign against the Republic of Ireland on Thursday.
