Manchester City take on European heavyweights Real Madrid in part one of a two-legged Champions League semi-final contest on Tuesday night.

Last time out in the competition, City made relatively easy work of a quarter-final meeting with Bayern Munich, knocking out the Bundesliga champions through a 4-1 aggregate scoreline with two goals from Erling Haaland, and strikes from Rodri and Bernardo Silva.

Pep Guardiola’s side most recently ran out 2-1 winners over Leeds United in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon, with captain Ilkay Gundogan scoring a brace to retain City’s place as the league leaders for another gameweek.

The two contests against Real Madrid across the course of the next fortnight are split by a crucial Premier League contest against Everton on Sunday afternoon, with Sean Dyche’s side coming into the meeting off the back of a shock 1-5 win away to Brighton.

Manchester City are currently on a strong winning run across all competitions that spans back to February, and as such come into the meeting against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid full of confidence.
