Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend at the Etihad Stadium when they host newly-appointed manager Dean Smith’s Leicester City.

Pep Guardiola’s players come into the tie fresh off the back of a 3-0 midweek thrashing of German giants Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie in Manchester.

Rodri’s fantastic left-footed strike from the edge of the 18-yard box gave the Blues the lead, before two more goals were converted by Bernardo Silva and runaway top scorer Erling Haaland.

Thomas Tuchel’s side themselves threatened on occasions, but individual mistakes – notably by central defender Dayot Upamecano – allowed Pep Guardiola’s forward line to take advantage and increase their lead ahead of next week’s second-leg in Munich.

Despite the positive result against the Bundesliga champions, full concentration will now be required from the reigning Premier League title-holders as they continue to chase down league leaders Arsenal.

Ahead of the clash at the Etihad Stadium, here are all of the stand-out statistics and potential landmarks to look out for!

  • Manchester City came out on top in their meeting earlier in the season at the King Power Stadium thanks to a Kevin de Bruyne goal.
