Match Preview: Manchester City vs Leicester City (Premier League)
On Saturday evening, Manchester City return to their Premier League title race, now sitting just six points behind the current leaders Arsenal, as they take on Leicester City.
In midweek, Pep Guardiola and his players welcomed Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich to the Etihad Stadium for the first-leg of a UEFA Champions League quarter-final contest.
After a close opening 27 minutes, Rodri received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and struck a curling shot into the top corner, breaking the deadlock and giving Manchester City a much-needed 1-0 lead.
Bernardo Silva would double the lead late in the second-half as he headed home a cross from Erling Haaland, with the Norwegian going on to find a goal himself just a few minutes later to nail the door shut on Bayern Munich.
On the other side of Saturday’s ticket sits Leicester City, who come into the match off the back of a 0-1 loss to AFC Bournemouth, as a result of a Philip Billing strike.
As City enter the weekend, the reigning Champions sit just six points behind current table toppers Arsenal, and with a match against them in a few weeks, every game until the end of the season will have a huge say on the direction of this season’s title.
