Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister is yet to receive an approach from Manchester City over a potential summer move to the Etihad Stadium, as per reports.

Mac Allister is enjoying an eye-catching season at the Amex Stadium under Italian manager Roberto De Zerbi, who has transformed the Seagulls and put them in contention for Europe next term.

The 24-year-old featured heavily for Argentina en route to World Cup glory in Qatar last year, setting up Angel Di Maria to give his nation a two-goal advantage in the first half of the final against France.

There has been widespread interest across the Premier League reported in Mac Allister, who has two years remaining on his current deal in the south coast.

Manchester City are understood to be eyeing a major midfield overhaul in the summer transfer window, with uncertainty looming over what the coming months hold for Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva amid interest from Barcelona.

Having netted seven times in 22 Premier League appearances this season, Mac Allister is understood to be amongst the options being considered to bolster City’s midfield options ahead of the new campaign.

It remains to be seen what sort of valuation Brighton put on Mac Allister, with the Seagulls renowned as excellent negotiators in the transfer market following their sales of Ben White (£50 million) and Marc Cucurella (over £60 million) to Arsenal and Chelsea respectively in recent years.

Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham is also believed to be on Manchester City’s radar as the Blues compete with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid for the 19-year-old, who is understood to be valued at €150 million at the Signal Iduna Park.

Earlier this week, reports from Argentina suggested that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has held talks with Alexis Mac Allister, who has expressed a desire to stay in the Premier League when he eventually departs Brighton.

However, as per the information of Veronica Brunati, Mac Allister’s camp are yet to receive a formal approach from the Etihad Stadium.

It has been stated that a number of high-profile clubs across Europe have enquired about the possibility of signing the Argentina international, but no decision has yet been made on where the World Cup winner will play his club football next term.

No concrete offers have reportedly been tabled for Mac Allister, whose valuation will only soar higher should a bidding war emerge for his services towards the latter stages of the season.
