Blackpool have confirmed the signing of Manchester City forward Morgan Rogers on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign.

The 20 year-old England youth international was granted an opportunity to impress potential suitors during a recent mid-season friendly against Girona for Manchester City, with the Championship club now confirming that they have won the race for the player.

Rogers’ most successful loan spell came during his time with Lincoln City, where the former West Bromwich Albion starlet scored six goals in 28 appearances, won the EFL Young Player of the Month award, and helped the Imps reach the League One play-off final.

Upon signing a deal with the Seasiders on Wednesday, Morgan Rogers told Blackpool’s official club website, “The Club has been interested in me for a while now and I really can’t wait to get playing. I’ve worked with the gaffer previously and this move goes hand-in-hand.

“The fans here are great and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them and showing them what I’m about.”

He continued, “I’m a player who likes to get the crowd off their feet, I like to be free and expressive with the way that I play. I just want to show what I’m capable of now.”

Morgan Rogers’ new boss has also indicated his excitement at adding the youngster to his squad for the remainder of the Championship season, as he said, “Morgan is a player I know very well from the time I worked with him at Lincoln.

“The quality that he’s got will be there for everybody to see. He’s got a physical presence, he scores goals and he gets assists. The fact he knows how I want to play and how I do things is a bonus.”

We wish Morgan all the very best during his loan spell with Blackpool!
