Manchester City would reportedly be willing to pay a record breaking amount to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, according to Dean Jones.

The Premier League champions are widely expected to rival Liverpool and Real Madrid for the signature of teenager Jude Bellingham next summer.

Bellingham starred for Gareth Southgate’s England at the recent World Cup in Qatar and has been highly praised by City manager Pep Guardiola in the past.

The 19 year-old scored against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League in September, as goals from John Stones and former Dortmund striker Erling Haaland helped the Sky Blues secure a late comeback victory.

Haaland, who has already netted 24 times for City this season, was one of two players to swap Dortmund for East Manchester during the summer, with centre-back Manuel Akanji also completing a move to the Etihad Stadium.

The Blues could now be eying another Bundesliga transfer swoop, with talk around Bellingham intensifying.

The teenager has been directly involved in 12 goals for Dortmund across three competitions so far this season and according to Dean Jones, sources have indicated that Manchester City would have ‘little concern’ in paying over £100 million for the 19 year-old.

City set a new British transfer record in 2021, signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for a record breaking £100 million.

Prior to the arrival of Grealish, City’s highest transfer fee was the signing of Kevin De Bruyne from Wolfsburg in 2015.

Liverpool and Real Madrid have both already been linked with Bellingham, as a nine-figure transfer fee is widely mooted.

Unlike the signing of Erling Haaland for £51 million in June, the England teens current Dortmund contract does not contain a release clause.
