Former Manchester City forward Leroy Sane has been photographed reuniting with his old friends at the Etihad Stadium this week.

The now Bayern Munich and Germany international returned to the Etihad Stadium on Thursday night, as he watched Manchester City defeat Liverpool 3-2 in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

It is understood that Sane watched on from the corporate box of Team Haaland, and was photographed standing alongside Erling Haaland’s father and representative, Alfie on the night.

Leroy Sane showcased the occasion by posting an image of the view from his seat within the Etihad Stadium on his Instagram story, much to the delight of Manchester City supporters across social media.

Now, in new images revealed by Manchester City on social media, the 26 year-old attacker took the opportunity to also reunite with some of his former Etihad teammates after the game.

Leroy Sane has been photographed meeting up with both Kyle Walker and John Stones in the Etihad Stadium’s gym – adjacent to the club’s home dressing room within the stadium.

Many supporters will be aware of Leroy Sane’s exemplary impact on the club’s performances during his time with Manchester City, as the Germany international contributed to back-to-back Premier League titles.

City are expected to be back in the transfer market next summer as they look to once again refresh Pep Guardiola’s squad, and the wide attacking positions are likely to be considered following the sales of Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus last summer.

However, given Leroy Sane’s importance to Bayern Munich, it remains highly unlikely at this stage that any return to Manchester City could be discussed or entertained by either party.

For now, Sane remains a friendly face to many within the football club, and his appearance at the match against Liverpool this week is a fine example of those healthy relations.
