Manchester United supporters have been made aware by their incoming CEO Omar Berrada of Manchester City’s likely longer-term success in the game.

In a statement from Old Trafford over the weekend, it was stated, “The Club is determined to put football and performance on the pitch back at the heart of everything we do. Omar’s appointment represents the first step on this journey.

“As one of the most experienced football executives at the top of European football, Omar brings a wealth of football and commercial expertise, with a proven record of successful leadership and a passion to help lead change across the Club. He is currently serving as Chief Football Operations Officer for City Football Group overseeing 11 clubs across five continents and, prior to this, held senior roles at Barcelona.

“It is our stated ambition to re-establish Manchester United as a title-winning club. We are pleased that Omar will be joining us to help achieve that goal, so that, once again, United fans can see, in the words of Sir Matt Busby, the red flag flying high at the summit of English, European and world football.”

However, while some have already suggested that Omar Berrada’s pending challenge at Manchester United is likely to be his most difficult in his career to date, the 46-year-old has already hinted at the impossible task of challenging his now-former employers.

That is according to information included in a new report from MailSport, where it is stated that Manchester United’s incoming CEO Omar Berrada has privately spoken about Manchester City ‘dominating Europe for years to come’.

The suggestion of continued success for Pep Guardiola’s star-studded squad comes fresh off the back of the club’s most successful calendar year in their history, and arguably the best single year in the history of any English club.

Following on from a third successive Premier League title at the end of the 2022/23 season, City defeated Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley, before claiming their first ever UEFA Champions League crown in Istanbul a week later.

A monumental Treble success was then followed up by victory in the UEFA Super Cup final over Sevilla in August, before a FIFA Club World Cup win in Saudi Arabia would make it five trophies in a single calendar year.
