Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva are reportedly aiding Manchester City’s hierarchy in attempts to recruit Wolves winger Pedro Neto next summer.

The Premier League champions appear set for a busy summer transfer market following the conclusion of the ongoing season, with a number of positions in Pep Guardiola’s squad likely to be addressed.

Alongside looking towards strengthening the wider roles in the first-team squad, central midfield is also set to be an area that Txiki Begiristain and his boardroom colleagues will look to address with uncertainty surrounding the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Bernardo Silva.

However, with Phil Foden establishing himself firmly as a more than capable option in attacking midfield, there is a strong chance that wing roles could be as necessary for the club when it comes to the transfer market.

As such, among several names being assessed by the football club, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Portuguese international Pedro Neto appears to be at the top of Manchester City’s shortlist given the reported seriousness of their ground work at present.

According to FootballTransfers’ Steve Kay this week, Premier League champions Manchester City see Wolves’ Pedro Neto as ‘a major transfer target’ and are ready to promise the player first-team football in a bid to beat Arsenal to the player’s signature.

It is detailed that City are ‘eager’ to make it clear to Pedro Neto that he will have a ‘prominent role’ in their first team squad next season, while Pep Guardiola is ready to accommodate him by moving Phil Foden into a more central role.

As such, the report states that Manchester City’s plans spell bad news for rivals Arsenal, with Emirates Stadium manager Mikel Arteta ‘unlikely’ to be able to give Neto the same first-team assurances.

Alongside Manchester City’s attempts at boardroom level to persuade Neto to make the move, it is further detailed that Portugal international duo Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias have been speaking to their compatriot, instructing him to sign for the club.

Alongside the talents of Neto, it is understood that Manchester City are also assessing the possibility of recruiting Savinho from fellow City Football Group outfit ESTAC Troyes, following his exemplary performances while on loan at high-flying La Liga outfit Girona.

The Brazilian youngster has contributed highly to Girona’s outstanding performances in the Spanish top-flight this season, and is excelling in a system being implemented by manager Michel that some believe is very similar to Pep Guardiola’s masterplan.

The benefit of having such a talent within the City Football Group roster for Manchester City is that negotiations with the French club over recruiting his services are likely to be straightforward, alongside finances not being an issue for the English giants.
