Manchester City are amongst a number of Premier League teams to be interested in signing Senegal centre-back Arouna Sangante.

Manchester City completed the signing of Jeremy Doku from the French top-flight in the summer, with the Belgium international having impressed at the Etihad Stadium since moving from Stade Rennais for £55.5 million.

Pep Guardiola’s side are now credited with interest in fellow Ligue 1 star Arouna Sangante, with the 21-year-old attracting interest from a number of major European sides, including a host of Premier League giants.

The Le Havre defender has made 14 league appearances already this season, and was named in the team of the season after helping the French club achieve promotion to the top-flight, last summer.

Sangante is the current Le Havre captain, however the 21-year-old could be set for a January exit from the club, with Football Insider claiming that FIFA agent Willie McKay has been instructed to sell the player this month by owner Vincent Volpe.

The Senegalese star signed a new deal until 2026 during the summer, but has been subject to interest from Premier League trio Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United, according to Pete O’Rourke.

Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have also been credited with interest, however the defender is claimed to be ‘on the radar’ of Manchester City after a number of impressive performances.

Fulham and Tottenham have also previously been linked with signing Sangante, with The Sun revealing that the Cottagers had ‘stepped up’ their pursuit of signing the defender in a potential £15 million deal.

Manchester City are widely reported to have already secured the signature of one talented prospect this month, after the Blues agreed a deal with River Plate to sign teenager Claudio Echeverri.

The Argentine is expected to sign a six-year deal with Manchester City but return to River Plate on loan.
