Manchester City are set to travel to the Middle East for a warm-weather training camp in January, Pep Guardiola has revealed.

The recently-crowned World Champions are set to return to the region for a warm-weather training camp in the new year, as Manchester City prepare for a packed February fixture schedule across multiple competitions.

Pep Guardiola’s squad continue their bid for an unprecedented fourth successive Premier League title, as well as looking to retain their UEFA Champions League crown after success in Istanbul in June.

Manchester City conclude the calendar year with a Premier League fixture against Sheffield United on Saturday, and are scheduled to play just three matches in January, with the return of the ‘Winter Break’.

Huddersfield Town visit the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup third round before Premier League matches against Newcastle on Saturday 13th January and Burnley on Wednesday 31st January.

As a result, the club look set to travel to Abu Dhabi for a warm-weather training camp, just weeks after travelling to Saudi Arabia for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Guardiola revealed that the treble-winners were planning to travel to Abu Dhabi during his press conference at the City Football Academy on Friday afternoon, with the Catalan having taken a number of players to the country for a training camp during the FIFA World Cup last year.

Erling Haaland was amongst the players to take part in the warm weather training camp at The Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi in 2022, but the entire first-team squad look set to be involved in 2024.

Manchester City also travelled to Abu Dhabi for a training camp in 2017, but cancelled plans in January 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
