Manchester City are plotting a potential move for Bayern Munich and Germany star Joshua Kimmich, after the midfielder dramatically ‘fell out’ with manager Thomas Tuchel.

Pep Guardiola could seek to bolster his midfield options during the upcoming January transfer window, with Kalvin Phillips set to leave the Etihad Stadium and concerns around the suitability of summer signings Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes.

Manchester City lost former club captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer, and missed out on signing trio Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice and Lucas Paqueta, alongside Kevin De Bruyne suffering a long-term hamstring injury.

City, who are currently in Saudi Arabia competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, have won just one of their last six Premier League matches, and collapsed to a 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The treble-winners are currently five points behind league leaders Arsenal, and could look to use the upcoming January transfer window to help with their bid to win a record fourth successive Premier League title.

FootballTransfers claim that Manchester City are eying a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, after the 28-year-old had a ‘fall out’ with manager Thomas Tuchel.

The German international has made just 11 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, and is claimed to have an ‘uncertain’ future at the Allianz Arena.

Manchester City were reportedly interested in signing Kimmich during the summer, and could renew interest in the midfielder as his future becomes more uncertain in Bavaria after falling out of favour with the manager.

Kimmich worked under Guardiola during the Catalan’s time at Bayern Munich, with the current Manchester City manager winning seven trophies during a three-year spell at the German club.

The midfielder is now claimed to have started looking for an agent to ‘facilitate’ an exit from Bayern Munich, with Manchester City looking to add ‘control’ to their midfield.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich completed a shock January transfer last season, when Joao Cancelo moved to the Allianz Arena on a short-term loan following a training bust-up at the City Football Academy.
