Manchester City discover UEFA Champions League last-16 opponent following completed draw
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have now discovered their fate in the UEFA Champions League last-16, following the completion of Monday’s draw.
Manchester City will continue their bid to retain their European title in the new year, after securing a place in the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League with six victories in Group G.
The Blues became just the second English club to win all of their Group Stage matches, with Manchester City beating Crvena zvezda, BSC Young Boys and RB Leipzig to top the group and secure a seeding for the last-16.
Pep Guardiola’s side concluded their Group Stage campaign with a 3-2 win in Belgrade last Wednesday, with goals for City Football Academy graduates Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb, as well as a first Manchester City goal for Kalvin Phillips.
The Sky Blues will resume their European campaign in February, with the 2024 Champions League Final scheduled to be held at London’s Wembley Stadium next June, where Manchester City have played 18 matches under Guardiola.
Manchester City’s route to the Final is still be to decided, but the treble-winners’ path to the quarter-finals of the competition has been revealed, following the last-16 draw, which has taken place in Nyon, Switzerland.
Manchester City will face FC Copenhagen in the last-16, with the second-leg taking place at the Etihad Stadium.

When are last-16 matches due to be played?
The first-leg ties of the Champions League last-16 are scheduled to take place on either the 13th, 14th, 20th or 21st of February, meanwhile second-leg ties are scheduled to take place on either the 5th, 6th, 12th, or 13th of March.
When is the quarter-finals & semi-finals draw?
The draw for the quarter-final and semi-finals is scheduled to take place on Friday 15th March 2024.
