Manchester City have put together their final preparations before Wednesday’s Champions League clash with BSC Young Boys in Switzerland.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now travelled to the Swiss city of Bern to face Young Boys on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League group stage in midweek, as they look to move up to a dominant nine points from a possible nine in the competition.

Manchester City are also looking to build on their return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, after Brighton & Hove Albion succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium following goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

Last time out in the UEFA Champions League, City moved past RB Leipzig in east Germany on a night when Josko Gvardiol made his return to the Red Bull Arena and was recognised by his former club with a statue of a golden bull.

Phil Foden opened the scoring in Saxony, only for Leipzig to fight back to 1-1 early in the second-half. However, detail-perfect substitutions from Guardiola saw Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku emerge from the bench to win the game via a 1-3 scoreline.

Wednesday night’s meeting at the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern will be the first time that BSC Young Boys and Manchester City have met in all competitions, making it the second new opponent of the season for City after Crvena zvezda on matchday one.
