Confirmed Match Officials: Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest (Premier League)
Anthony Taylor will take charge of Manchester City’s clash with Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, the Premier League have announced.
Manchester City will look to maintain their winning start to the season this weekend, with the opportunity to stretch the Premier League winning streak to six matches, after last Saturday’s comeback win over West Ham United.
Pep Guardiola’s side returned to the top of the table with a 3-1 victory at the London Stadium, as second-half goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland secured a fifth consecutive win.
Nottingham Forest were thumped 6-0 at the Etihad Stadium last season, but secured a surprise 1-1 draw at the City Ground in February, as Chris Wood cancelled out Bernardo Silva’s opening goal.
Steve Cooper’s side beat Chelsea prior to the international break, and sit in the top-half of the Premier League table following a 1-1 draw with Burnley on Monday evening.
Ahead of Saturday’s clash, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for Manchester City’s match against Nottingham Forest.
Match Referee
Anthony Taylor has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
The 44-year-old, who has officiated eight matches so far this season, took charge of 44 games last year – showing 179 yellow cards and six red cards.
The referee last took charge of a game involving Manchester City in May, when Pep Guardiola’s side beat Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park.
Taylor was also the referee for Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over Arsenal, which secured the Sky Blues’ third successive Premier League title.
Assistant Referees
Taylor will be accompanied at the Etihad Stadium by Assistant Referees Gary Beswick and Adam Nunn.
Video Assistant Referees
Overviewing proceedings will be Video Assistant Referee Michael Salisbury and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Derek Eaton.
Fourth Official
Dean Whitestone has been named as the Fourth Official.
The referee will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Pep Guardiola and Steve Cooper.
