Kyle Walker sends special message to Manchester City supporters following Premier League title win
Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has sent a special message to Etihad Stadium supporters following the club’s record-breaking Premier League title win.
The England international full-back was the leading member of the Manchester City squad in a campaign that saw Pep Guardiola and his players become the first side to win the English top-flight in four consecutive campaigns.
That feat follows a string of other records being broken by Manchester City across a staggering period for the club working under Guardiola, and following on from last season’s outstanding Treble success culminating in a UEFA Champions League triumph.
While many wondered what would come next for Manchester City, or what would be the next ambition, supporters of the club never stopped believing and pushing their side for even greater success, even during some less than positive moments in the ongoing season.
Speaking after Manchester City’s 3-1 win over West Ham and their subsequent fourth successive Premier League title win, Kyle Walker showed his appreciation for the continuous and remarkable support shown by the Etihad faithful.
“The support we get from the Manchester City fans never ceases to amaze me,” Walker admitted. “Week in, week out they are there, whatever the weather, supporting us all the way. Their passion and backing honestly means the world to me and all the players.”
The Manchester City captain continued, “I hope that making history by winning a fourth consecutive Premier League title stand as a fitting way for us to say thank you to all our fantastic fans.”
Manchester City are expected to be granted a few days off from their football duties, before returning to action in the FA Cup final against Manchester United, in what will be their final clash of the ongoing domestic season.
