Jarred Gillett will take charge of Manchester City’s trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Sunday, the Premier League have announced.

Manchester City travel to Yorkshire looking to extend their winning start to the Premier League campaign after successive wins against both Burnley and Newcastle United.

Despite a number of notable absences due to injury, Manchester City beat Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, with Julian Alvarez’s powerful first-half strike proving the difference between the two teams.

Pep Guardiola’s side are one of only three clubs to have won their opening two Premier League matches, and the Manchester City manager will be hoping to make it three successive wins this weekend.

The Sky Blues face newly-promoted Sheffield United, with the Blades having lost both of their opening two fixtures against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

Manchester City beat Sheffield United in the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals last season, and are unbeaten against the Yorkshire club since 2008.

Guardiola’s last three Premier League victories over the Blades have been by a 1-0 scoreline, with Kyle Walker scoring the winning goal the last time the treble-winners visited Bramall Lane.

Ahead of Sunday’s clash, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for Manchester City’s trip to Sheffield United.
