Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has publicly addressed the 115 Premier League charges against the club for the first time.

Speaking during his annual interview following the conclusion of the campaign, Khaldoon Al Mubarak spoke with CityTV to reflect on Manchester City’s historic season and outline his ambitions for the 2023/24 campaign.

City, who were hit with a series of charges in February regarding alleged breaches of financial regulations over a nine-year period, face potential expulsion from the top-flight, if found guilty.

Alleged breaches took place over an extended period from 2009 to 2018 and relate to financial information, profitability and sustainability, player and manager remuneration, failure to cooperate and UEFA regulations.

Manchester City strongly refute allegations, and have started a lengthy legal process which could take between two to four years to reach a judgement.

Pep Guardiola produced a fiery response during a press conference in wake of the charges earlier this year, and now, Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has glowingly promised to reveal his “blunt views” in the future.

In an interview with CityTV, the club Chairman said: “These are proceedings that take whatever time they take and when we’re done, we’ll have a conversation.

“I’ll give you my very blunt views, I promise you. I have very strong views, but I’m going to be unfortunately very restrained today.”

Manchester City lifted their third consecutive Premier League title last month and recently won the Emirates FA Cup and a maiden Champions League title.

The Blues beat local rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium before a 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League Final.

City’s treble win was the first since Manchester United in 1999, with the Sky Blues having now won 14 trophies under the management of Pep Guardiola.

The Catalan also signed a new two-year contract extension during the campaign, extending his stay until 2025.
