Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour held a meeting with Pep Guardiola and club officials this week to plan the upcoming stages of the Catalan’s tenure.

The meeting came after Guardiola led his side to a historic treble of trophies as City claimed a third straight Premier League title, their fifth in six seasons, the FA Cup and a maiden Champions League trophy courtesy of a 1-0 win over Inter in Istanbul.

Since his appointment as head coach in 2016, Guardiola has led Manchester City to a plethora of domestic success and a sensational European run this term saw the Blues go all the way in the Champions League and defy their doubters once and for all, in style.

City have been busy celebrating, and deservedly so all the way, a monumental achievement for everyone associated with the club this week, with Jack Grealish notably leading the party and even pleading Bernardo Silva to refute interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Guardiola and his squad, together with the club’s staff, held a parade around Manchester city centre on Monday evening before a host of first-team players jetted off for national team commitments.

On Wednesday, Guardiola paid a visit to Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour in Abu Dhabi, where he presented the current Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates with this season’s Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League titles.

The meeting, also attended by the likes of Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano, saw Guardiola pay tribute to Sheikh Mansour and his commitment towards Manchester City and making the club a global powerhouse in football, as per WAM News.

Al Mubarak also noted that City’s success on and off the pitch since the takeover in 2008 has been heavily down to the significant investment made in the squad in the last 15 years by Sheikh Mansour, who was in attendance for the Champions League final last week.

The club’s plans for the upcoming season, their aspirations heading forward and social events were all discussed in the meeting, with Pep Guardiola expected to see out the remainder of his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, which runs till 2025.
