Manchester City are celebrating becoming Champions League and treble winners after a famous victory over Inter Milan in Istanbul.

Pep Guardiola’s side won the UEFA Champions League for the first time on Saturday night, as Rodri’s powerful strike and Ederson’s heroic goalkeeping helped Manchester City to a maiden Champions League trophy.

Victory in Istanbul also saw Manchester City become the first team since Manchester United in 1999 to win the treble, after the Sky Blues lifted both the Premier League title and FA Cup trophy prior to Saturday’s European final.

Kevin De Bruyne was heartbreakingly forced off midway through the first-half for City on Saturday night with a hamstring injury, as Phil Foden replaced the Belgian at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

Rodri netted the only goal of the game in 68th minute, as Manchester City concluded their European campaign as unbeaten, having overcome both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on route to the final.

Celebrations continued long into the night in Istanbul and Manchester City have announced plans for an open-top bus parade in the city centre on Monday evening.
