Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola spoke to the press ahead of his side’s Premier League meeting with Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

City returned to the top of the Premier League in midweek with a 3-0 triumph against West Ham, with Nathan Ake, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden netting at the Etihad Stadium.

The Blues remain in the hunt for a potential treble of trophies this season, with a Champions League semi-final tie against Real Madrid and FA Cup final clash against neighbours Manchester United looming in the run-in.

As they chase a fifth league title in six seasons, City and Guardiola will be keen on keeping the squad fit and firing as the games come thick and fast for the Premier League champions.

Ederson was replaced by Stefan Ortega against West Ham in midweek as the summer signing kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut in what was a crucial win for City.

Rodri was replaced late on by Kalvin Phillips on Wednesday amidst talk about the England international’s future at the Etihad Stadium less than 12 months after joining Manchester City from Leeds United last summer.

Speaking ahead of a visit from the Whites on Saturday, Guardiola was asked whether Ederson is in contention to return against Leeds.

“He is ready to play like he was against West Ham, tomorrow we decide,” the 52-year-old said.

Rodri could be given a well-deserved rest against Leeds, which could see Phillips come in for the Spaniard.

On Rodri, Guardiola said: “We will see today. We see (in) the training session. Talk to a few players and we will see.”
