John Brooks will take charge of Manchester City’s clash with West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, the Premier League have announced.

Pep Guardiola’s side will continue their Premier League title charge in midweek, as the Sky Blues moved to the top of the Premier League for the first time since February, with a win over Fulham in West London on Sunday.

Julian Alvarez, who started ahead of Kevin De Bruyne, played a key role in the victory, winning a penalty in the third minute and restoring City’s lead with a sensational strike from distance.

Erling Haaland scored a landmark 50th goal of the campaign at the weekend, with the Norwegian having the opportunity to surpass Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s Premier League record in midweek.

Haaland opened his Manchester City scoring account against West Ham in August, with the Hammers currently four points clear of safety and preparing for a UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final next week.

David Moyes’ side have lost their last two games, but did come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Arsenal at the London Stadium last month.
