As Manchester City continue to draw up a list of potential midfield options for the summer, one of their prospective targets has sent a clear message to suitors.

The midfield role is expected to be a position where Manchester City focus a large share of their attentions in the coming months, especially given the continued uncertainty surrounding the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva.

Following the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the majority of Argentina’s trophy-winning squad are now at the centre of transfer speculation, and one such name is Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister – who starred in the centre of the park for Lionel Scaloni’s men.

Featuring in all of Argentina’s World Cup matches except for their group opener against Saudi Arabia, Mac Allister shone and delivered a goal against Poland in Group C, before delivering an assist in the final itself against France.

As such, Premier League clubs are now vying for his signature, and a recent report stated Pep Guardiola had even identified the 24 year-old as a priority target for the upcoming summer window.

Now, Alexis Mac Allister has handed potential suitors from Premier League clubs – including Manchester City – plenty of hope in regards to signing the player in the coming months following a new revelation.

Speaking during a new interview with TyC Sports, the Brighton and Argentina international addressed speculation over his immediate future as he explained, “At the moment, I’m enjoying my present at Brighton and I’m not thinking about the future.

“But I would like my next team to be in the Premier League.”

Elsewhere on Manchester City’s transfer shortlist, the club are also expected to be in the market for a wide forward, with the likes of AC Milan’s Rafael Leao under close observation during the ongoing season.

A left-sided full-back is also expected to be among Manchester City’s priorities, especially with Joao Cancelo not expected to return to the club following his initial six-month loan deal with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
