Erling Haaland has provided a typically ice cold reaction to scoring yet another crucial goal for Manchester City, following the 1-3 win over Arsenal.

The Norwegian striker provided the match-sealing goal at the Emirates Stadium, as City climbed to the top of the Premier League table following an impressive second-half showing.

Kevin De Bruyne had initially put City into the lead in the first-half, before a Bukayo Saka penalty drew the Gunners level and in many ways sparked a performance that looked like it would be enough to topple the visitors.

However, tactical substitutions in the second-half from Pep Guardiola and an increased intensity led to goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland to register a monumental 1-3 win on the road against the now-former league leaders.

Speaking after the game, Erling Haaland stressed his pride at the performance of his teammates as he said, “For me, we have to play a little more like this sometimes. That’s exactly what we did today. I’m so proud, I’m so proud of every single guy here, so happy to be here.”

The 22 year-old continued, “Of course, we can all agree they (Arsenal) have been the best team this season. So to come here and play is not easy. But we played an amazing game and got three really important points and we’re in it again.”

Erling Haaland’s second-half strike was his 32nd goal of the campaign, accompanying four assists for the club since joining last summer, with the Norway international proving just why his £52 million purchase from Borussia Dortmund can only be regarded as a steal.

But scoring goals is just the norm for the former RB Salzburg frontman, as he admitted, “That’s my life (scoring goals). It’s already gone 20 minutes since I got my last goal, I’m already on it again, I have to keep working. I’ll do my best.”

Unsurprisingly, the Manchester City dressing room couldn’t be any happier after such a statement victory that has followed a largely difficult period for the club both on and off the pitch.

Erling Haaland believes now is the time for Manchester City to build on the performance, and put together a winning run that can drive the club towards yet another Premier League title, despite the challenge of Arsenal expected to be persistent.

Haaland said, “It was so positive (at full-time). There were happy celebrations right after the game. I’m so happy, I don’t know, I’m just so happy with everything. I’ll do my best and I’ll make sure everyone else does their best too.”

He continued, “We needed this one. Now we need to go on a run because that’s what City should do. I’ll do my best and I’ll make sure everyone else does their best too.”

Manchester City are back in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon, as they continue their run of away matches with a trip to one of the English top-flight’s newcomers in Nottingham Forest.

That clash will then lead on to the Champions League last-16 first-leg, when City travel to Germany to take on the Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
