Pep Guardiola has received a significant boost to his first-team options ahead of Manchester City’s penultimate and final Premier League matches of the season.

Manchester City face their final two English top-flight matches knowing that a victory in both would secure their status as Premier League champions for a fourth successive campaign, in a feat never before achieved in the history of the competition.

Tottenham in north London is the first of those contests, in a match-up that is yet to see Manchester City score a goal at the home of Ange Postecoglou’s side in the Premier League, albeit having seen success in the FA Cup earlier this season.

Pep Guardiola and his players will then have the opportunity to be crowned Premier League champions in front of their own supporters on Sunday afternoon against West Ham United, but only if they manage victory against Spurs on Tuesday night.

In a much-needed boost to selection options ahead of the first of those two games however, Pep Guardiola has been greeted by the return of one of his most important attacking stars at the perfect time.

Despite missing the weekend’s action through illness, Jack Grealish has now returned to Manchester City first-team training out on the City Football Academy training pitches ahead of the final two Premier League matches of the season.

Nathan Ake was absent from the session however, with the Dutchman having picked up a problem in the opening stages of the weekend’s 0-4 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage, replaced by captain Kyle Walker.

Guardiola is likely to offer an update on both players when he speaks to the media on Monday afternoon, ahead of Manchester City’s trip to Tottenham on Tuesday night, whilst also issuing any further developments on his squad.

Manchester City’s domestic calendar comes to a close at the end of the month, with an FA Cup final date at Wembley Stadium to look forward to against their bitter cross-town rivals Manchester United – a repeat of last season’s showpiece finale.
