Pep Guardiola has five of the top 10 highest-valued footballers in the Premier League at his disposal at Manchester City, according to the latest global ranking of player valuations.

That is according to the latest study from CIES Football Observatory, who this week have provided a comprehensive ranking of the highest-valued footballers from across the globe.

Much to the delight of Manchester City, they have been graced with 50% of the top-10 highest-valued players in the Premier League, while two of Pep Guardiola’s first-team stars appear in the top-five of the wider rankings.

For the first time since the study first began, Manchester City also possess a player with an estimated transfer valuation in excess of €200 million – according to CIES Football Observatory.

Only one player across the globe values higher than any of Manchester City’s squad, and that is reported midfield target and current Borussia Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham – who has a staggering €208.2 million valuation to his name.

Top-Five highest estimated transfer values, as per CIES

  • €208.2M – Jude Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund
  • €200.5M – Phil Foden, Manchester City
  • €190.7M – Kylian Mbappe, Paris Saint-Germain
  • €190.5M – Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid
  • €174.9M – Erling Haaland, Manchester City

Top-10 highest estimated Premier League transfer values, as per CIES

  • €200.5M – Phil Foden, Manchester City
  • €174.9M – Erling Haaland, Manchester City
  • €117.0M – Rodri, Manchester City
  • €109.7M – Luis Diaz, Liverpool
  • €108.7M – Bukayo Saka, Arsenal
  • €105.0M – Ruben Dias, Manchester City
  • €103.6M – Joao Cancelo, Manchester City
  • €99.3M – Reece James, Chelsea
  • €97.4M – Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal
  • €93.6M – Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United

Manchester City officials will certainly be happy with the valuations next to the players represented in the CIES rankings, especially given the transfer spends on each of the players – particularly that of Erling Haaland, who cost the Premier League champions just £51 million during the recent summer transfer window.

The same feeling will certainly also apply to Phil Foden – who is regarded as being the finest example of the Manchester City academy system working as planned, when significant investment was put into the development of the City Football Academy site in east Manchester.
