On-loan Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford has been linked with a possible move to Ibrox, with Rangers showing an interest in the 20 year-old.

Trafford, who is currently enjoying a second loan spell at Bolton in League One, could be on the move to Glasgow following the opening of the January transfer window.

The England goalkeeper has made 23 appearances for Bolton so far this season, keeping ten clean sheets and conceding 20 goals.

Trafford has also featured in the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and EFL trophy this season with Bolton currently chasing promotion back to the Championship.

The Wanderers are currently 7th in League One, just one point off the play-off places in the division.

Trafford is on a season-long loan at the University of Bolton Stadium after impressing during a short spell at the club during the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.

The 20 year-old is now being linked with a possible move to the Scottish Premiership, according to the Daily Mail.

Jack Gaughan reports that Trafford is “attracting interest” from Rangers, who recently appointed Michael Beale as manager.

The Glasgow club are currently nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and face their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox on Monday.

Rangers are on a four game winning streak ahead of the clash and have kept clean sheets in both of their past two victories.

Veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor is 40 years-old but has started three of the last four games for Beale.

It is currently unknown whether Rangers would make a move for Trafford in January should they consolidate their interest in the young Manchester City goalkeeper.
