Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has provided an update on his injury scare sustained in Norway training earlier this week.

Concern around Manchester City’s mainstay striker first emerged when a video from Norway’s training camp this week appeared to show Haaland struggling with a problem in training, forcing him to leave the session while limping.

Medical staff from within the Norway international camp appeared to indicate that there was no such problem concerning the City forward, however concern remained given the long list of high-profile fixtures on the horizon for Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, with fixtures about to get underway across the globe, many of which will feature Manchester City players, a much-needed personal update from Erling Haaland has been delivered before Norway kick-off their friendly fixtures.

Speaking to the media ahead of Norway’s upcoming international friendly meeting against Czech Republic, Haaland revealed his readiness at featuring for his country despite his training ground blip, as he explained, “I feel good and I’m ready to play the match.”

Norway manager, Ståle Solbakken has also confirmed that Erling Haaland will start for his country this week if he is declared fit for the contest by national team medical professionals.

Manchester City will return from the ongoing international break towards the end of next week, and will begin preparations almost immediately for a Sunday afternoon clash against Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

The meeting with Mikel Arteta’s side starts off a hectic run of matches that also includes an FA Cup semi-final battle against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, alongside a UEFA Champions League double-header against Real Madrid at the quarter-final stage of the competition.

Those latter stage tournament matches are also accompanied by additional Premier League challengers against the likes of Aston Villa and Crystal Palace – both of whom have already taken points from Manchester City this season.
