Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players have now discovered their fate in the last-eight of this season’s UEFA Champions League following Friday morning’s draw.

Manchester City are bidding to retain their European crown this season having reached the quarter-final stages of the competition for a seventh successive campaign, after a thumping 6-2 aggregate win over FC Copenhagen in the last-16.

Victories at both Parken and the Etihad Stadium booked the Sky Blues’ place in the quarter-final stage, with Pep Guardiola’s side still unbeaten in this season’s competition, following consecutive 3-1 wins.

City, who could still reach both the Champions League and FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium this season, reached the quarter-final stages alongside Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues are unbeaten in the Champions League since a dramatic loss to Real Madrid in 2022, and are also unbeaten in all competitions since a defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League in early December.

Pep Guardiola’s side remain in the hunt to retain last season’s historic treble and discovered their opponents for the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League on Friday morning.

Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, with the first-leg taking place at Santiago Bernabéu and second-leg at the Etihad Stadium.

First-leg ties of the quarter-finals are scheduled to take place on either Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th of April, meanwhile second-leg ties are scheduled to take place on either Tuesday 16th or Wednesday 17th April.

The first-leg will take place either side Premier League games against Crystal Palace and Luton Town, meanwhile City’s second-leg fixture will come either side of the Luton clash and either a meeting with Tottenham or an FA Cup semi-final.
