Manchester City’s Phil Foden has a wholesome image printed onto his matchday shin-pads taken from the club’s historic Treble-winning campaign.

The 23-year-old is enjoying his most prolific season to date in front of goal, establishing himself as a dependable option in all areas of Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up, but largely in attacking midfield for most parts of the ongoing campaign.

Across Phil Foden’s 41 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions so far this season, the City Football Academy graduate has scored an outstanding 18 goals and provided a further 10 assists.

Large parts of Foden’s success can be credited to his ability to keep his feet firmly planted on the ground in his personal life, and the Stockport-born playmaker’s family life has filtered into his game this season remaining largely unknown.

As highlighted by TNT Sports during Manchester City’s most recent UEFA Champions League game-week, Phil Foden has an image of him and his internet-famous son Ronnie printed onto his matchday shin-pads.

The image depicted was taken after Manchester City’s victory in the Champions League final in Istanbul – a contest that saw Phil Foden thrust into action following Kevin De Bruyne’s first-half injury in the match.

Phil Foden’s son Ronnie was thrust into global social media fame following his celebrations in Turkey last summer, with his parents moving to launch an Instagram account covering his personal affairs and swiftly generating over 3.5 million followers in the process.

The affectionately nicknamed ‘El Wey’ single-handily has more Instagram followers than 14 clubs in the Premier League, as well as 13 players within Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City squad.
