Manchester City have had their kit edition confirmed for their Premier League title showdown against challengers Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

It comes after Pep Guardiola and his players starred in their third kit during the treble-winning campaign of 2022/23, falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Liverpool during the first-half of the season at Anfield.

In a result that has become a trend for Manchester City in their recent visits to Anfield, last season’s outing saw them somewhat dominate proceedings at times, registering 63 per cent of ball possession and have 16 shots at goal in comparison to the hosts’ 13 efforts.

However, Manchester City will see a change of kit for this Sunday afternoon’s meeting with Liverpool, albeit retaining their FIFA Club World Cup champions badges placed in the centre of their jerseys for the remainder of the season.

As now confirmed by the Premier League, Manchester City will take on Liverpool in their traditional sky blue and white home kit, following on from last season’s third kit showing in the same fixture.

Pep Guardiola and his players are currently on a strong run of form over the past few months, having remained unbeaten in their last 20 matches across all competitions, including a FIFA Club World Cup success in Saudi Arabia.

That run has also seen Manchester City reach the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, with wins over Huddersfield Town, Tottenham Hotspur, and Luton Town in the former, and FC Copenhagen in Europe’s premier club competition.

March presents City’s greatest test of fixtures to date this season, taking on Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal in the Premier League, as well as Newcastle United and FC Copenhagen in the FA Cup and Champions League respectively.
