Manchester City welcome Copenhagen to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night with a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final stage up for grabs.

Pep Guardiola and his City squad come into this week’s European meeting with a 3-1 advantage in their favour, having claimed the all-important lead at Copenhagen’s Parken home in the Danish capital last month.

Kevin De Bruyne gave City the perfect start before Magnus Mattsson would equalise for the hosts. Bernardo Silva regained the lead on the stroke of half-time, while the in-form Phil Foden would round off a 1-3 scoreline in Copenhagen.

It was a 3-1 scoreline for Manchester City in their last outing too, dismissing of cross-town rivals Manchester United in the 192nd official meeting between the two clubs despite Marcus Rashford’s stunning opening goal.

Phil Foden was once again at the heart of everything excellent for the Premier League champions, scoring a second-half brace to move Manchester City into the lead, and leave Erling Haaland to complete the afternoon’s work and claim all three points.

Jeremy Doku appears to have been a casualty from the derby win however, as the Belgian missed Manchester City’s open training session on Tuesday afternoon, while Jack Grealish remains sidelined with the reoccurrence of an earlier groin problem.

As Manchester City look to further close in on a defence of their first ever UEFA Champions League crown this season, here is how Pep Guardiola and Jacob Neestrup line-up their respective sides for the last-16 second-leg at the Etihad Stadium.
