‘United really parked the bus’ – How social media reacted as Manchester City dominate Manchester United in 3-1 win
Social media reacted as expected after Manchester City downed neighbours Manchester United in a dominant performance at the Etihad Stadium.
The visitors took a stunning lead through a superb Marcus Rashford goal, but it was one-way traffic from there as Manchester City stormed back to a 3-1 win to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Liverpool.
A brace from Phil Foden and late Erling Haaland strike was all the firepower that Pep Guardiola’s side would need to cruise past their local foes and complete the double in the league over United this season.
After the match, social media was chock-full of reaction after the superb Manchester City showing at a packed Etihad Stadium.
The celebrations will last long into the night and throughout the remainder of the weekend for Manchester City players and fans alike, but the attention will seen need to shift back to the pitch.
The Etihad Stadium outfit next face a visit from Danish giants FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second-leg Tuesday night, with a 3-1 lead to protect from the first-leg in Denmark.
The following weekend will then bring another major Premier League clash as Manchester City will head to Anfield to take on title-rivals Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp’s side holding a one-point advantage heading into the weekend.
