Manchester City host Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the 192nd edition of the iconic north-west fixture steeped in history and prestige.

City come into the clash fresh off the back of a destructive 2-6 away win at Kenilworth Road in the FA Cup fifth round, with an Erling Haaland five-goal haul brushing aside Luton to reach the quarter-finals of a competition they currently hold.

The meeting with United this weekend is the first of five crunch fixtures for the Treble winners in March as they go on to clash with Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League, as well as Copenhagen and Newcastle in the Champions League and FA Cup respectively.

Pep Guardiola can count himself somewhat fortunate when it comes to Manchester City’s fitness situation heading into the derby, with Jack Grealish likely to be the club’s only absentee following his groin injury against Luton earlier this week.

Josko Gvardiol could make a return to Manchester City’s matchday squad roster following an ankle ligament problem, while Erik ten Hag is expected to be without a long list of names including Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund.

As Manchester City look to move back to within just one point of Liverpool ahead of the two sides’ meeting at Anfield next weekend, here is how both Pep Guardiola and Erik ten Hag set-up their respective teams on Sunday.
