Phil Foden nominated for February Premier League award alongside Arsenal and Manchester United stars
Manchester City’s Phil Foden has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award following his performances in February, it has been confirmed.
City’s poster Academy graduate firmly became a go-to option for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City in the central role throughout the course of February, whilst also offering exemplary performances when asked to operate wider.
Taking on five appearances in the Premier League throughout the month of February, Phil Foden managed to score a total of four goals, completing the 90 minutes of action in all matches.
Three of those goals came in one game, as Phil Foden bagged himself a hat-trick away at Brentford to ensure Manchester City would come from behind to claim all three points at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The match-winning goal away to Bournemouth in Manchester City’s final top-flight game of the month would also come courtesy of Phil Foden, who has earned himself the title of ‘The Sniper’ among his City teammates due to his goalscoring antics in training and matches.
It is that goalscoring form and contributions to Manchester City’s faultless February that has now seen Phil Foden recognised by the Premier League, nominated for the division’s Player of the Month award alongside high-profile names from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.
Premier League Player of the Month, February nominees:
Phil Foden, Manchester City
João Gomes, Wolverhampton Wanderers
Pascal Groß, Brighton & Hove Albion
Rasmus Højlund, Manchester United
Rodrigo Muniz, Fulham
Bukayo Saka, Arsenal
Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa

Foden has won the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award on two previous occasions, whilst also picking up two of the PFA’s equivalent award thanks to his contributions in previous Manchester City title-winning campaigns.
