Manchester City discover Emirates FA Cup quarter-final opponents following completed draw
Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players have now discovered their fate in the last-eight of this season’s Emirates FA Cup following Wednesday evening’s draw.
The holders of the competition took their tally to 12 goals scored in just three matches in the tournament this season, following an emphatic 2-6 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday night.
Erling Haaland’s five-goal haul was added to by a sumptuous strike from Mateo Kovacic in the second-half, with Kevin De Bruyne also registering an outstanding four assists for the aforementioned Norwegian forward on the evening.
Victory over their fellow Premier League outfit followed a fourth round win over Tottenham in North London, while the third round saw Manchester City dismiss of Huddersfield Town with ease through a 5-0 scoreline at the Etihad Stadium.
Now, following the completed draw on Wednesday evening, it has been confirmed that Manchester City will face Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the fixture taking place at the Etihad Stadium.

The Emirates FA Cup Quarter-Final ties will take place across the weekend of Saturday 16th March.
For Manchester City, that means that their trip to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League has now been postponed, with a new date to be announced by both clubs in due course.
The FA Cup quarter-final tie will also lie between two mammoth games for Manchester City, following a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, as well as the hosting of Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the month and after an international break.
