Manchester City are set to offer Oscar Bobb a major pay rise as part of a new long-term contract agreement with the forward.

The 20-year-old is set to become the latest Manchester City first-team star to be rewarded with an improved long-term contract, following a breakthrough campaign with Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Bobb, who’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium expires in 2026, scored his first Premier League goal during Manchester City’s pivotal 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United last month at St James’ Park, with the last-gasp strike recently winning the Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The Norwegian was handed his senior international debut in October, having made his Manchester City debut against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium in early September.

Bobb has already made 16 appearances for the Sky Blues this season, and also scored his first UEFA Champions League goal during a 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in December.

The forward was retained by City despite strong interest from across Europe in signing the 20-year-old during the summer transfer window, with the development of Bobb also playing a role in the club’s decision to sell Cole Palmer to Chelsea.

Bobb was handed a first Premier League start against Brentford last Tuesday, with Etihad chiefs also preparing to hand a new long-term contract to the Norwegian following an incredible maiden campaign in senior football.

Bobb is currently in ‘advanced talks’ with Manchester City surrounding fresh terms, and the improved deal will include a ‘big-money’ pay rise, according to Football Insider.

The winger will also reportedly enjoy ‘increased responsibilities’ and is considered a ‘key’ part of Guardiola’s long-term plans at the club.

The 20-year-old is ‘highly regarded’ at Manchester City, something Guardiola mentioned last month following Bobb’s goal against Newcastle.

“Txiki (Begiristain) at the end of last season said to me that in the Under 23s Oscar Bobb was the best player by far and I said: ‘OK (he’ll) go to Japan (on our summer tour) to start to train with us’,” said Guardiola.

Bobb’s international teammate Erling Haaland is also set for Manchester City contract talks as the club look to swathe of renewed Real Madrid interest by agreeing a fresh deal with the striker.

Haaland has been linked with a potential La Liga move and is set to see a release clause within his current contract soon become active.
