Premier League champions Manchester City are set to listen to offers for two of their highly-rated right-back talents during the upcoming summer market.

Reports in the last few weeks have largely centred around Manchester City’s incomings into Pep Guardiola’s squad, with a number of arrivals tipped for moves as transfer bosses at the Etihad Stadium look to strengthen in various positions.

Right-back is likely to be an area that Manchester City could explore. While Pep Guardiola is content with his current options, contingency plans are expected to be put in place given the age of Kyle Walker, and the stage of his career that he is at.

However, despite Manchester City having several options in the developmental pipeline, the latest reports have indicated that Etihad bosses could instead look to sell such names on permanent agreements, raising cash for other moves.

According to the information of BBC Sport’s Mike Minay, Manchester City are ‘prepared to listen to offers’ for both Yan Couto and Issa Kabore during the upcoming summer transfer window.

While Couto is said to be ‘well liked’ at the Etihad Stadium, the report states that the Brazilian international is ‘likely to want first-team assurances’, with clubs from the Premier League expected to show interest in the player.

Minay goes on to report that Serie A teams and possibly Bayer Leverkusen, should Jeremy Frimpong depart this summer, could also show interest, with reports elsewhere pointing towards Juventus as a potential Italian suitor.

Manchester City will almost certainly be satisfied if they were able to secure a transfer fee at such valuation, with BBC Sport reporting that the expectation is that Yan Couto could fetch a £40 million deal.

Couto has excelled during his most recent loan spell with Girona this season, and his performances in La Liga earned him his first caps for the senior Brazil men’s national team, and contributed to UEFA Champions League qualification for the club.

As for Issa Kabore, the Burkina Faso international has endured a much more complicated season on a personal front, despite offering a sensational assist for Luton Town against Liverpool in Premier League action.

Across all competitions for Rob Edwards’ side, Kabore has made 26 appearances and provided two assists in the process, averaging 72.2 minutes per appearance for the Hatters in their maiden Premier League campaign.
