A new report from Brazil has shone light on the transfer fee agreed between Manchester City and ESTAC Troyes over the transfer of Savio this summer.

The Premier League champions are currently in the process of finalising the relevant paperwork that will make Savio a Manchester City player this summer, after completing an ongoing season-loan at Girona from France.

The teenager has been instrumental in the success seen by the Catalan club and their pursuit of a historic La Liga triumph as they continue to be embroiled in an intense battle with league giants Real Madrid at the top of the division.

As such, it comes as no surprise to understand that Savio has been attracted widespread interest from across the European game, and particularly from within the Premier League as well as the Bundesliga.

But it is Manchester City who appear set to win the race for the player, as they close in on finalised discussions with their fellow City Football Group side over a deal for the prospect this summer.

According to the information of journalist Jorge Nicola, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City are spending €30 million to sign Savio permanently from fellow City Group side Troyes, with 12.5% going to the 19-year-old’s former club Atlético Mineiro.

The 12.5% sell-on clause installed into Savio’s move to ESTAC Troyes from Atletico Mineiro would mean that the Brazilian club are in line to earn themselves around €4 million, should the aforementioned price tag prove to be accurate.

At present it remains somewhat unknown as to what Manchester City’s intentions are for the future of Savio, although given his personal achievements in the Spanish game this season, the player will almost certainly have the opportunity to impress for a first-team slot.

The more likely outcome is for Savio to return to Girona on loan for next season, especially if the La Liga high-flyers were to maintain their ongoing form and secure themselves a place in the UEFA Champions League for the 2024/25 campaign.

Yan Couto is another player currently starring at Girona that is likely to be assessed this summer, with the Brazil international full-back currently on loan at the City Group club directly from Manchester City.
