It’s time for week two of City Xtra’s Manchester City quiz, brought to you by fcQuiz, as we focus attention on the Etihad Stadium’s exceptional Argentine heritage.

Our Argentina special edition comes just days after Julian Alvarez’s 24th birthday and his sensational brace against Burnley, taking his goal contributions tally across all competitions for the season level with the exemplary Erling Haaland.

The former River Plate man is the latest in a long line of legendary figures to emerge from Argentina and star for Manchester City over the last 15 years in particular, most recently succeeding from the one and only Sergio Aguero.

The now-retired former Manchester City and Barcelona forward amassed an outstanding 390 appearances during his stay at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 260 goals to become the club’s all-time leading goalscorer and winning 14 trophies in the process.

Manchester City’s Argentine culture does not stop there however, with numerous Premier League title-winning campaigns starring other names from the South American country, including Pablo Zabaleta, Nicolas Otamendi, Martin Demichelis, and Willy Caballero.

But just how much do you know about Manchester City’s infamous Argentina link-ups across their recent history and in the present? It’s time to test your knowledge in week two of our quiz, in partnership with the team at fcQuiz.

The latter finalised an initial £12.5 million move from River Plate in the final days of the most recent January transfer window, remaining on loan in Argentina until the end of the calendar year before linking up with the Etihad club midway through next season.
